A few of our many wonderful horses!
MABEL and LILAC - Mabel became a hero when she became Lilac's foster mom. Brandywine, her birth mom, came to HH very ill, and despite Michele and the vets' best attempts, they knew she was not saveable, but WAS very pregnant. Mabel was rushed to the vet hospital to learn the ropes, and 6 days later, baby Lilac was born. They bonded quickly and remain close. Mabel took to motherhood like a champ! (see full story below)
NATHAN and BOB - Nathan came to live with us in March, as his owner truly loved him but had health issues which limited her ability to care for him. He is such a sweet boy and quickly friended Bob - they are now Best Buds! Huge thanks to Bob's mom, who often donates supplies to us!!
BINDI - Michelle got a message from someone who had horses, who said this horse was in the back lot, due to so many health issues. She knew nothing about this horse, but decided to rescue it anyway. When Bindi arrived to Haflinger Haven, she could barely walk so she went straight to U of I for very intensiver rehab. She is thriving now! Here she is in a quinceanera photo shoot with the daughter of a friend of Michelle's.
BRITTANY & TEDDY - Teddy is is an older guy with a history of EPM. Brittany Brittany came from a kill pen in WI and she came to me with one eye. She is head over heals in love with Teddy. He has been adopted by Brittany whether he likes it or not…he loves it!
SCHMOOZER- He is a real ladies man and absolutely loves attention. He came to me from a friend in Wisconsin. Schmoozer has a fat knee but is sound and happy with no health issues. He is definitely the boss of his small herd!
LINUS- The cutest mini munchkin in the world!!! One of my very first rescues ever. He was emaciated when I got him. I was afraid he couldn’t even make it off the trailer when I brought him home! Now everyone wonders if he is pregnant!
